Childhood hunger in northwest Ohio is an ongoing and growing problem, one that Connecting Kids to Meals is trying to rectify.
“Going hungry is a problem we should be able to solve,” said Wendi Huntley, the nonprofit’s president. “The core issue is that people don’t know there is a childhood hunger problem in our community.”
The group is hosting an awareness luncheon Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SeaGate Convention Centre in downtown Toledo. The free event will feature various speakers on the issue of childhood hunger and the efforts under way to combat it.
